Peace Meal Solidarity

Peace Meal Solidarity is a project that engages families with young children in the community in activities that promote inclusion and appreciation of diversity by providing globally-inspired meals and early literacy materials. Our community meals may be over, but we encourage families to learn about other cultures in respectful ways at home that honor their uniqueness and history.

Want to participate in 2023?

We are looking for partners to host meals and parents to act as cultural ambassadors.

Our partner meeting was held on Tuesday, November 29 2022 from 2-3:00. You can watch the recording here. If you’d like to view the slide deck, click here.

Ready to sign up to host a prepared meal or distribute the ingredients to cook one at home?

After watching the recorded meeting, interested partners can affirm participation by clicking here. Please claim your dates and country/countries by January 10, 2023.

Join us in sending a message of unity and multicultural celebration as we partake in shared “grab-and-go” meals together and learn about our communities in Northern Michigan. Our January organizational meeting will be announced soon.  An updated listing of partners offering unique globally inspired meals in February, March, and April will be posted here and updated frequently.  Special event “passports” will be issued for your chance to win prizes, have some fun, and maybe even learn something new about your heritage, other cultures, and your community. Prepare for travel and tag us on social media #PeaceMealSolidarity and on Instagram! Take a look at the passport you will receive at any of our events. Be sure to bring it to the events you attend if you already have one!
